Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3: The Conflict (BLEACH千年血戦篇-相剋譚-, Bleach Sennen Kessen-hen Sōkokutan) is a 2024 television anime series based on Tite Kubo’s manga series Bleach and a continuation to both the 2004 anime series Bleach and the 2022-23 anime seasons for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. The season was directed by Hikaru Murata and produced by studio Pierrot, with chief director & series composition writer Tomohisa Taguchi, series composition writer Masaki Hiramatsu, character designer Masashi Kudo, and music composed by Shirō Sagisu. The season first aired in Japan on October 2024.
Background:
“THE BLOOD WAR BETWEEN SOUL REAPERS AND QUINCIES INTENSIFIES after the Wandenreich’s second wave of attack transforms the Seireitei into a dimension known as the Schatten Bereich. Undaunted, the Thirteen Court Guard Squads reclaim their stolen Bankai to strike back and defeat several of the Stern Ritter’s most powerful members, the Wörtlich.
As the battle wages on, Renji Abarai, Rukia Kuchiki, and finally Ichigo Kurosaki each complete their training at the Royal Palace and return to the Seireitei to help the Soul Reapers with their newly acquired powers and abilities. However, Ichigo’s attempt to stop Yhwach is thwarted by Uryu Ishida. A shocked Ichigo demands Uryu to explain his true intention for pointing his weapon toward his friends. But the only answer he gets from Uryu is a rain of arrows to signal the end of their friendship. With Uryu and the Royal Guards at his side, Yhwach successfully breaks past the Soul Shield Membrane barrier and finally sets foot into the sacred realm of the Royal Palace.
But the Quincies’ advance seemingly ends after facing Squad Zero, who use their awesome powers to defeat Yhwach and the rest of the uninvited guests. However, the real battle and despair have yet to start… Soul Reapers and Quincies. Ichigo and Uryu. Beliefs and Resolve. The never-ending conflict between light and dark clashes above the dark-blue heavens.”
Plot Synopsis via Anime Limited, July 2026.
What started a few years ago has almost come to a close for its Japanese broadcast, but the third part of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is now finally on home video, just in time for the fourth part’s simulcast launch. As a refresher, this anime adaptation adapts the BLEACH manga’s final story arc known as the ‘Thousand-Year Blood War’.
This arc wasn’t adapted during its original anime run which concluded in March 2022 after 366 episodes, but after so long the series came back with this sequel to cover the remaining chapters. The first part, The Blood Warfare, aired in October 2022 covering Volumes 55-61 (Chapters 480-542), followed by the second part, The Separation, aired in July 2023 covering Volumes 61-67 (Chapters 542-607), then we reach this part, The Conflict, aired in October 2024 covering Volumes 67-72 (Chapters 608-661). At this point the final part will only have a few volumes left but chances are they’re expanding the content considering the manga ended rather abrupt.
Like the previous two cours, North American distributor Viz Media secured the streaming and home video rights for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, with Disney+ covering the streaming availability. The UK, Ireland and French home video rights went to Anime Limited, who announced their acquisition in 2024 alongside the original Bleach series.
Collector’s Edition Contents:

As there are four parts to Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, that means four separate releases for the series in general, and each of them not only received collector’s treatment but HMV Exclusive slipcases for those who don’t want the collector’s content but a little extra for their standard edition release. The contents for Anime Limited’s releases are mirroring most of the contents showcased by Viz Media’s own limited edition sets.
The collector’s edition release is presented with a rigid box, an Scanavo case housing the discs and a 78-page booklet. The booklet contains an episode guide, behind the scenes with the staff, and character designs for those featured in this portion of the series.

The rigid box artwork is free of any information or BBFC content and the info sheet covers the information and specification like previous Anime Limited releases. The collector’s edition Blu-ray has an unspecified number of units printed for an SRP of £69.99, with a standard edition Blu-ray available for retailers at an SRP of £39.99.
I pre-ordered the series during their June 2026 early bird offer run on AllTheAnime webstore for £36 plus postage thanks to the 10% discount for using Anime Unlimited. Unlike the previous cour, there were no reported authoring issues this time around. The spine is visible on the rigid box but its due to their chosen colour which is why its quite easy to miss.
