The Dangers in My Heart (僕の心のヤバイやつ, Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) Season 2 is a 2024 television anime series based on Norio Sakurai’s manga series of the same name, and the second season to the 2023 anime series of the same name. The series was directed by Hiroaki Akagi and produced by studio Shin-Ei Animation, with series composition writer Jukki Hanada, character designer Masato Katsumata and music composed by kensuke ushio. The season first aired in Japan in January 2024.

Background:

“Kyotaro Ichikawa’s in a quandary. His relationship with Anna Yamada keeps going in unexpected directions. However, his school doesn’t have classes on understanding the opposite sex.

Recently, fortune has given him an unexpected break… a broken arm. But it’s the perfect excuse for Anna to help him with some things that are hard to do one-handed. If he can bring himself to ask her. Of course, Anna’s just as confused on her end, and they’ve got terrifying events like Valentine’s Day that they’ll have to navigate together in the second season of THE DANGERS IN MY HEART!”

Plot Synopsis via Anime Limited, June 2026.

The romantic slice of life series The Dangers in My Heart returned with a second season by the same team who worked on the first season. While I’ve not gotten around to watching the series, part of that was because I wanted to hold out for this season so that I can watch them both back to back. The anime adaptation did well enough to also receive a theatrical film which was a compilation with additional scenes added in. The third season is also being worked on for a 2027 release window.

Like before, US distributor Sentai Filmworks acquired the streaming and home video rights for the series as well as the other parts of the anime franchise. HIDIVE simulcasted the seasons with an English dub, and UK distributor Anime Limited acquired the UK & Ireland license for home video over during MCM London Comic Con in May 2025. The first season received a steelbook release by Sentai Filmworks and a collector’s edition by Anime Limited with similar contents, but this time Anime Limited went ahead with their collector’s edition release.

Collector’s Edition Contents:

Anime Limited decided to jumped a gun from Sentai Filmworks for their release of The Dangers in My Heart Season 2, so while Sentai haven’t said anything about a steelbook release for their region, at least the UK distributor put in a bit more effort to maintain consistency with their first season release.

The collector’s edition release is presented with a rigid box, an Scanavo case housing the discs and the A3 fold-out poster, and a 40-page booklet. The booklet features character designs, interviews with the Japanese staff, and a couple bonus manga pages. Pretty much very similar to the previous season but focused on the second season’s cast of characters.

The rigid box artwork is free of any information or BBFC content and the info sheet covers the information and specification like previous Anime Limited releases. The collector’s edition Blu-ray has an unspecified number of units printed for an SRP of £69.99, with a standard edition Blu-ray available for retailers at an SRP of £39.99.

I pre-ordered the series last May as part of Anime Limited’s early bird offer for £39.99 plus postage thanks to the 10% discount for using Anime Unlimited. Unlike the previous season, there were no reported authoring issues this time around.
