Plot Synopsis via Manga Entertainment, June 2020
As mentioned in my Part 1 unboxing post, RADIANT is a French manga, known as manfra, and it’s did well enough to get at least two anime seasons. I have yet to watch the series but its art style grabbed my attention in the same way that Black Clover had done and I’ve heard pretty good things about its latter half of the anime.
Crunchyroll acquired the English-speaking rights for the series and as part of their now-defunct partnership with Funimation, has the latter release the series with an English dub during broadcast and a home video release. The show was released on Blu-ray & DVD for the US & Canada as well as UK & Ireland through Manga Entertainment on behalf of Funimation.
Limited Edition Contents:
Much like how That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime was handled, Funimation decided to provide a limited edition for RADIANT Season 1 via the second half of the series rather than the first half.
The limited-edition box set features a rigid box that houses an Amaray case (with a slipcase) as well as a 80-page Hardcover Artbook. There’s also a cardboard box inside the box set (that will be used to house Part 1 of the season) that features 6 art cards, and 2 Acrylic Keychains. The booklet includes character designs, illustrations and interviews.
The rigid box artwork is free of any information and the info sheet covers the information and specification like previous Funimation limited edition releases.
The SRP for the limited-edition set was £64.99 and there’s no exact unit count. I ordered the limited edition release from United Publications because the price offered was lower than the other Funimation sets. A standard edition Blu-ray was also available.
