I had been after the continuations to the K Project for quite some time and while they did show up at Anime Limited’s 2019 sale (as a mystery box item), I managed to get them for low prices.
K: Missing Kings is a 2014 original theatrical anime film animated by studio GoHands, directed by Shingo Suzuki and Hiromichi Kanazawa, published by Starchild Records, and was theatrically released in Japanese theaters in July 2014.
The K Project has been around for a while and the first season was pretty decent to watch. When I heard that it was continuing I was willing to check them out, but it took quite a while for them to make it to the UK. At the time there were two anime projects revealed; Missing Kings, a theatrical film, and Return of Kings, a second season that takes place after the film. There is also the continuation of the second season called K: Seven Stories which has yet to be picked up in the UK at the time of this post.
The first season was released in the UK by KAZE who had the rights to the series. Thankfully Anime Limited rescued the franchise by acquiring the film and second season of the franchise. Both titles received collector’s edition treatment which is a surprise given that Viz Media, who owns the US & Canada rights, didn’t give the two titles any limited edition sets.
Released in October 2018, K: Missing Kings from Anime Limited contains the film on both Blu-ray and DVD discs, using the Madman master. The audio options available include the main Japanese language with English subtitles and the Viz Media x Studiopolis English dub. The white subtitles are unlockable during playback and the discs are region locked to Region B Blu-ray and Region 2 DVD players only. The DVD disc is in NTSC format.
K: Missing Kings is available to order in both collector’s edition Blu-ray & DVD format and standard edition Blu-ray on Amazon UK.

Plot Synopsis (via Anime Limited):
“A year after the events of K and its climatic battle, the Silver King Shiro is still missing and his whereabouts unknown in spite of the best efforts of Neko and Kuro to track him down. The movements of these loyal servants hasn’t gone unnoticed however, leading to a run-in with members of rival clans that reignites tensions and power struggles between various factions.
When a member of the now-disbanded Red Clan, Anna Kushina, is taken prisoner, the best opportunity for Shiro to be tracked down by Anna’s impressive powers is lost. Thus, unlikely allegiances are formed between the Red and Silver clans to combat the new threats which face them both.
