Made in Abyss is a 2017 television anime series based on the manga written and illustrated by Akihito Tsukushi. The anime was adapted by studio Kinema Citrus and published by Kadokawa Pictures. The series aired during the Summer 2017 anime season in July.
This series was one of the small bunch of titles from Sentai Filmworks to be given a collector’s edition release and an English dub over in the United States. UK distributor MVM Entertainment brought the series over to the UK with their version of Sentai’s collector’s edition. In addition as Sentai are no longer adding DVDs to their new titles, MVM’s release will be Blu-ray only as well.
Of the three shows that I picked up from MVM, Made in Abyss is the one that I have already seen prior, and it’s a surprisingly good series with some pretty intense moments during the second half. The good news is that there is more to come, with Sentai also bringing over the theatrical film recaps (with English dubs) to start with.
The main differences between the UK & US versions of the collector’s edition are that MVM has decided to match the Australian design instead because Sentai went for a different type of presentation (like Food Wars!). The standard UK Amaray case and the box overall features artwork based on the Australian release done by Madman. The booklet carries over from Sentai’s release but we also get some art cards that were included in Madman’s release.
Released in April 2019, Made in Abyss from MVM Entertainment contains the entire first season (episodes 1-13) across two Blu-ray discs. Audio options available include the main Japanese language with English subtitles and the Sentai Filmworks English Dub. The discs are region compatible with A & B territories, and the yellow subtitles are locked during playback.
Made in Abyss is available to order in both collector’s edition and standard edition Blu-ray sets over on Amazon UK.

What is known is that the Abyss is filled with strange creatures and priceless relics that have lured generations of fortune hunters into a diabolical trap. Because while anyone can descend into the Abyss safely, coming back up triggers a nightmarish series of transformations and madness. And the deeper you go, the less chance you have of coming back unchanged. But when 12-year-old Riko receives a message that her missing mother might still be alive deep in the Abyss, she knows she has to go to her. Hey I would really like to get this edition of Made in Abyss however I have seen a version that comes with a map of the Abyss but I was wondering if the map is included in this or in another version. If it is not in this edition then if possible could you send me a link to the version I am looking for or at least guide me in the right direction to it.
Thank you.

Hi there, the world map of Made in Abyss was only included in the US (Sentai Filmworks) and Australian (Madman) limited edition Blu-ray versions of the series.
Those respective versions should still be available to order via US and Australian retailers. Hope that helps!

Thanks, I live in the UK so it may be a lot more expensive to get the version with the map so I’ll likely get this one instead. Thank you very much for the help.
