So after a very large haul for the start of the year, unfortunately some real-life events had occurred which resulted in a much smaller haul for this month.
For this update we have 2 video games, 4 anime titles, and 2 light novel volumes.
#01 | Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] Box Set 2
The first item of the month is the second half of the Unlimited Blade Works Aniplex box set. This was a couple months delayed as the first set literally got me in some money problems that took a while to adjust, and given how the series is now going out of print it was pretty much now or never for the show.
#02 | J-Novel Club Light Novels
I wanted to pick up some more light novels and publisher J-Novel Club released the first two volumes for How Not to Summon a Demon Lord and In Another World With My Smartphone, so I acquired the first volumes for both. Haven’t read them yet but I did watch the anime for Demon Lord when it had aired so I’m looking forward to reading it.
#03 | DJMAX RESPECT and Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin!
On the day where things went wrong, my package from Solaris Japan had arrived. It had been a long time since I imported some Japanese video games for the PlayStation 4 so I chose the music rhythm game DJMAX RESPECT and Yakuza spin-off Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin! for the collection.
#04 | In Another World With My Smartphone
With Funimation they have been putting out more limited editions lately but not every one of them has grabbed my interest much. However, one of those that received the treatment ended up being this Smartphone anime series. I liked the set enough to consider going for it and since it’s been around for months I ordered it. Amazon took too long to ship it out so I switched to UP1 and that helped save some cash.
#05 | Pigtails and Other Short Stories from Production I.G
Anime Limited released an early bird for the Production I.G short film collection last December and I turned it down due to timing and costs, fortunately they brought back the deal throughout February and I went for it. It arrived in time before the month had concluded and I watched all of the films while writing the unboxing. Solid collection overall.
#06 | OVERLORD II
Final item of the month is the UK version of Funimation’s limited edition release from Manga Entertainment. I watched the OVERLORD anime during its simulcast and enjoy it quite a fair bit so it was no surprise that I would go for the limited edition. As I had the UK version for Season 1, I went for the UK version for Season 2 also to match.
Additional Notes
That’s every item I received during the month of February. As I mentioned at the top of this post, unfortunately I was made redundant for my first job. What this means is that the future hauls are now in limbo until further notice. I’m disappointed that this had to happen but honestly the travel and communication during work was taking a toll on me personally so I’m happy to move on and find a better job if possible.
The good news about all of this is that I did get the most expensive Aniplex set out of the way so I won’t have to worry about that now. The bad news is that there’s going to be another batch of titles I ideally would have wanted to get, but now I can’t due to the lack of income to acquire them.
I currently do not have any anime on order, however I would ideally like to pay off Funimation’s releases for Death March and High School DxD HERO before it is too late so that I wouldn’t have to worry about those later in the year.
