One of the many anime acquired during the Anime Limited 12 Days of Christmas sale. They arrived at home first so I now have them in possession today! This one is once again another Funimation UK title.
Daimidaler: Prince vs Penguin Empire (Kenzen Robo Daimidaler) is a 2014 anime series animated by studio TNK and published by Hakuhodo DY MAP/Showgate. The anime is based on the manga series written & drawn by Asaki Nakama.
I remember watching a glimpse of this anime years ago and the concept is literally so bizarre I had been meaning to watch it for a while. This is an ecchi anime series from the same animation studio who also adapted High School DxD, so in other words it’s uncensored in all of its glory. There’s also penguins that are.. very excited to say.
To the surprise of everyone, the show was chosen to be released in the UK under Funimation’s label. Funimation also dubbed the show with Matthew Mercer voicing one of the main leads so I am definitely curious to check out the dub now. Like SHIMONETA, the series is also one of the few recent anime released with an 18 rating uncut and uncensored for its sexual themes.
The UK release offers the complete series on Blu-ray across 2 discs. English & Japanese audio with English subtitles are available. The discs, which were authored by Funimation, are region locked to B and the subtitles are locked during playback.
