Sword Art Online the Movie -Ordinal Scale- is a 2017 theatrical film from studio A-1 Pictures based on the light novel series Sword Art Online written by Reki Kawahara. The film was published by Aniplex.

This is the first theatrical film in the Sword Art Online franchise and takes place after the events of Sword Art Online II and before the Alicization arc in anime canon. The film gained a fair amount of attention and was even theatrically released around the world including the US, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Anime Limited have the UK & Ireland rights for the film and recently released it on Blu-ray & DVD earlier this Summer.

This particular collector’s edition is actually going out of print, but select copies are available to pick up. The design of the collector’s edition is similar to the Aniplex of America release, only missing the Character Song CD and adding a DVD in its place. The rest is sort of identical, such as the booklet and the artwork.

Released in May 2018, Sword Art Online the Movie -Ordinal Scale- from Anime Limited contains the film across a single Blu-ray disc and single DVD disc. Audio options available include the main Japanese language with English subtitles and the English dub. The discs are region locked to B and 2 in NTSC format, while the subtitles are unlockable during playback. Included with the collector’s edition set is the traditional Anime Ltd style packaging with a rigid box and digipack as well as a booklet and art cards.
