That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (転生したらスライムだった件, Tensei Shitara Suraimu Datta Ken) Season 3 is a 2024 television anime series based on Fuse’s light novel & manga series of the same name with illustrator Mitz Vah. The television series was directed by Atsushi Nakayama and produced by studio 8bit. Staff credits also include series composition writer Toshizo Nemoto, character designer Ryōma Ebata and music composed by Hitoshi Fujima. The third season first aired in Japan in April 2024.
Background:
“After Clayman’s defeat, Rimuru returns home to learn Diablo has healed Falmuth’s nobles, securing their alliance with Tempest. Meanwhile, Hinata grows wary of Rimuru’s rising power and battles him – unaware a powerful organization is manipulating her.”
Plot Synopsis via Crunchyroll UK, August 2025.
The isekai genre continues to dominate the anime industry but I found that the light novels that helped spawn the genre at the start of the craze tend to stick around the most, mainly because there’s enough material to adapt the rest of the story. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is one of those having received multiple seasons at this point, and its a pretty unique take on the concept because while Rimuru reincarnated as a slime monster than a human, the general plot is primarily driven by dialogue than action. For a moment I was thinking of comparing it to the Monogatari series in that regard.
Being serious though, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a pretty intriguing series and I’ve enjoyed the two seasons that I’ve watched so far. Part of the season I didn’t jump into the third season was because studio 8bit produced an original theatrical anime film Scarlet Bond that takes place in-between the second and third seasons. There’s also a second original theatrical anime film Tears of the Azure Sea that takes place in-between the third and fourth seasons as well which is receiving a theatrical release in the UK & US.
Despite the dozens amount of anime content, the light novel material had recently concluded last November after 23 volumes released though the anime adaptation does take elements from the manga adaptation instead as both versions were pretty popular amongst readers. The third season primarily adapts the 7th-9th light novel volumes.
Crunchyroll announced they acquired the streaming & home video rights for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 in March 2024 before the series began airing, with an English dub produced for simulcast as well. The home video release was split into two parts, one per cour, for both the United Kingdom & United States territories.
Limited Edition Contents:

Crunchyroll have been ditching limited editions for later seasons of a number of anime titles and fortunately That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 still manages to receive one for Part 2 of the release, though only for the United States leaving UK fans to import to secure a copy (hence why I have this version) but you can still slot a UK copy of Part 1 into the set.
The Part 2 limited edition release is presented with a rigid box, an Amaray case (with a slipcase) housing the discs, a 120-page artbook and a cardboard box that includes 8 art cards, a sticker sheet and an enamel pin. The booklet features character designs, key word glossary, notes about the series’ tempest, interviews with the staff and author and illustrations.

The rigid box artwork is free of any information and the info sheet covers the information and specification like previous Crunchyroll limited edition releases. The limited edition Blu-ray & DVD has an unspecified number of units printed for an SRP of $89.98, with a standard edition Blu-ray & DVD available for retailers at an SRP of $69.98.
I acquired this edition from Amazon US as they reduced the price to a reasonable level ($41.98), considering it just got released a few months ago, alongside Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV which I sent to Stackry so that I could consolidate it with another package and have them all shipped together to the UK. If the stock sticks around you may get lucky and order it for less during Crunchyroll’s sale but it solely depends on how many units they have in stock.
