Armour of God II: Operation Condor (飛鷹計劃) is an 1991 live-action theatrical Hong Kong film directed & written by Jackie Chan, and produced by Leonard Ho & Raymond Chow with distribution by Golden Harvest, and is a continuation to the 1986 film Armour of God. The film starred Jackie Chan, Carol Cheng, Eva Cobo de Garcia, Shôko Ikeda, and Aldo Sambrell, with writer Edward Tang and music composed by Chris Babida. The film was theatrically released in February 1991 for Hong Kong.
Background:
“The Asian Hawk is back! Undeterred by nearly dying while making the first Armour of God, Jackie Chan returned to battle for a sequel that’s bigger, better and even more daring. This time, Jackie’s intrepid treasure hunter is on the hunt for some Nazi gold but recovering it will not be easy, let alone safe.
The most expensive Hong Kong film produced at that time, Armour of God II: Operation Condor showcases some of Jackie’s best stunts and action, building up to an epic climax that will blow you off your feet.”
Plot Synopsis via 88 Films, June 2025.
Jackie Chan has worked on dozens of films throughout his career in the Hong Kong film industry and as his popularity started to grow at Golden Harvest, so has his stunts and film ideas because Armour of God and its second film Operation Condor both take Jackie Chan to different parts of the world in an Indiana Jones style adventure. I’ve still not watched the first film but I did see Armour of God II: Operation Condor thanks to 88 Films’ Blu-ray released back in 2020, which was a very fun film with some pretty cool stunts.
The film internationally was also known as Operation Condor without the Armour of God name which I assume is due to either the first film not seeing a release first or to allow the audience to start this film without needing any knowledge of the previous. When I watched the film it was pretty much standalone. In the UK, it was distributed by Entertainment in Video Ltd in 1993 for VHS followed by a 2001 DVD release. Firefly Entertainment and Mediumrare both took over the license in 2012 & 2013 for DVD and Blu-ray respectively.
As for 88 Films, they picked up the license for a new Blu-ray release in 2020, that included a new 2K restoration and a limited edition package with a slipcase and booklet. The release sold well and since then it’s been available as a standard edition Blu-ray, but now fast-forward to 2025, Armour of God II: Operation Condor now joins the 4K Ultra HD format with another new restoration.
Deluxe Limited Edition Contents:

So 88 Films have different names for their special editions and here they have given Armour of God II: Operation Condor the ‘deluxe limited edition’ treatment which offers as much as their deluxe collector’s edition sets in the past. The film previously received a first print edition when 88 Films first released the Blu-ray but here we have new artwork and content.
This deluxe limited edition release is presented with a rigid slipcase containing a 4K amaray case housing the discs, a double-sided poster and an 80-page illustrated booklet featuring two new write-ups. The articles covered are ‘Diana Weng’s Hidden Treasures: Digging deep with Jackie Chan’s Dialogue Coach’ by Diana C. Weng & Thorsten Boose, and ‘On The Road Again: Jackie Goes Globetrotting’ by David West.

The box art is clean with no ratings/information on all sides, with a sheet to cover the synopsis, information about the release and any ratings and specs. The artwork on the Amaray cases (both covers) do include information and specs on the back but there’s no BBFC logos. The deluxe limited edition 4K Ultra HD release retailed for £39.99 SRP, and the previously released Blu-ray from a years ago is still available. A standard edition 4K Ultra HD release will likely appear once this deluxe limited edition sells out.
I pre-ordered this alongside another Jackie Chan 4K release from the Terracotta store.
