Kiss Him, Not Me! (Blu-ray) Unboxing

The delayed December items finally arrived from the 12 Days of Christmas sale by Anime Limited. The second is a Crunchyroll title (but not sub-licensed) that was brought over to the UK.

Kiss Him, Not Me! (Watashi ga Motete Dousunda) is a 2016 television anime series based on the manga series written and illustrated by Junko. The anime was adapted by studio Brain’s Base and published by TBS. The anime series aired in the Autumn 2016 season.

Well Kiss Him, Not Me! certainly had a pretty messy treatment for the UK & Ireland. When the series was acquired by Crunchyroll & Funimation for the US & Canada, Anime Limited acquired the rights roughly around the same time for the UK & Ireland. Because the streaming sites didn’t have any availability for the UK & Ireland, Anime Limited revealed plans to make the series available through Crunchyroll and for some ridiculous reason the latter never bothered to make it available.

I remember Anime Limited scratching themselves in the head wondering why on earth it wasn’t up as it should, and it eventually did.. exactly 12 months later. Funimation did offer an English dub and both distributors were able to release it on Blu-ray and DVD. Neither distributors offered any form of special collector’s edition treatment so what you have is a regular standard release.

Released in April 2018, Kiss Him, Not Me! from Anime Limited contains the entire series (12 episodes total) across two Blu-ray discs using the Funimation master. The audio options available include the Funimation English dub and the original Japanese audio with English subtitles. The white subtitles are locked during playback, and the discs are locked to Region B Blu-ray players.

Kiss Him, Not Me! is available to order on Amazon UK.
